Using our Dial-Up Service?
The settings required for Dial-Up service are outlined below for your easy reference.
PPP (Point to Point Protocol) is the most common protocol used to connect home computers to the Internet. The following information is required to set-up your PPP communication software :
- IP address - Dynamically assigned
- Domain Name - tstt.net.tt
- Name Servers: 196.3.132.1 196.3.132.4
- Mail Server: - mailhost.tstt.net.tt (SMTP POP3)
- Compression - Turn all your compression options ON.
- Modem Setup - 8 bits, no parity, 1 stop bit. Set maximum DTE speed which your system can handle.
- Finally - Dial 6195NET (6195638)
IP: Internet Protocol
SMTP: Simple Mail Transport Protocol
POP: Post Office Protocol 3
DTE: Data Terminal Equipment
What should happen
- Dial 6195NET (6195638)
- Modem connects
- Terminal window appears with username: prompt. Enter your username.
- Enter your password at the password prompt.
- The TSTT menu should now appear, choose the menu option for PPP as appropriate.
- At the appearance of the PPP start up message, choose your communication software's continue option to proceed with the connection.
- Your communication software should report that is has successfully connected.
IMPORTANT Notes
Point to Point Protocol users, make sure that your chosen communication software supports Password Authentication Protocol (PAP)!
It is recommended that your communication software be chosen as per the notes above.
